Jacques Webster (born April 30, 1992), better known by his stage name Travis Scott (formerly stylized as Travi$ Scott), is an American rapper and record producer from Houston, Texas. In 2012, Scott signed to Epic Records, before eventually signing to Kanye West's GOOD Music production wing known as Very G.O.O.D. Beats, in November of the same year, as an in-house producer, after appearing on the label's debut compilation album, Cruel Summer (2012).
In April 2013, it was announced he signed with T.I.'s Grand Hustle imprint. He released his first official full-length project, a mixtape titled Owl Pharaoh, on May 21, 2013. He then released his second mixtape Days Before Rodeo on the 18th of August 2014. His debut album Rodeo was released on September 4, 2015.
Jacques Webster was born on April 30, 1992, he was born in Houston, Texas. Although he was born in Houston, he grew up in Missouri City, a suburban area outside Houston and attended Elkins High School. Normally, Scott would stay with his grandmother, while his mother worked for the company Apple, and his father ran his own business. Scott attended the The University of Texas at Austin as well as The University of Texas at San Antonio before dropping out.
On January 27, 2015, he released two new tracks onto his SoundCloud account; "Nothing But Net", featuring Young Thug and PartyNextDoor, and "High Fashion", featuring Future, as well as announcing a Spring US tour with Young Thug and Metro Boomin as promotion for Rodeo which is reportedly due to be released September 4. In March 2015, Barbadian singer Rihanna released her new single titled "Bitch Better Have My Money", which is co-written and produced by Scott.
Spin magazine compared his 2013 album Owl Pharaoh to that of Kanye's 808s & Heartbreak and Cudi's Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager.[20] Webster has stated that he is influenced by Kanye West, T.I., Bon Iver, M.I.A., Kid Cudi, Mike Dean, Björk, Toro y Moi, Outkast and Jeff Bhasker.
