Today’s Doodle celebrates the life and work of a female actor who became an iconic figure in Egyptian cinema Mary Mounib and the Russian movie star Lyubov Orlova.
Lyubov Orlova - Lyubov Petrovna Orlova (Russian: Любо́вь Петро́вна Орло́ва; 29 January [O.S. 16 January] 1902, Zvenigorod – 26 January 1975, Moscow) was the first recognized star of Soviet cinema, a famous theatre actress, and a gifted singer. A minor planet, 3108 Lyubov, discovered by Soviet astronomer Lyudmila Zhuravlyova in 1972, is named after her. A cruise ship named after her was built by the Soviet Union in Yugoslavia in 1976 for expeditions to Antarctica and the Arctic Circle.
Mary Mounib - Mary Selim Habib Nasrallah ( February 11, 1905 - January 21, 1969 ), an Egyptian comedian of Shamy origins. Born in Beirut in 1905, she came with her family to Egypt and lived in the Shubra neighborhood of Cairo. She began her artistic career at a young age. She began as a dancer in amusement parks and began her artistic career in the 1930s , Joined the Rihani Ensemble in 1937 and went on to work in the theater and cinema and starred in several films, and became famous for the role of protectors who try to intervene between her daughter and her husband Vtvd things and then withdraw from their lives, and remained in the field of art for thirty-five years.
