A 45-year-old man described as "disgruntled" entered his former workplace in an Orlando industrial park with a handgun, fatally shooting five people before turning a gun on himself, authorities said. The deadly incident happened about 8:03 a.m. at Fiamma, Inc., a small RV accessories business at 2427 Forsyth Road, not far from University Boulevard. Deputies arrived within two minutes at the business and immediately located several people – three men and a woman – dead from gunshot wounds inside the building. Another man was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he later was pronounced dead. Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings described the events as "a workplace violence incident."
A disgruntled former employee shot and killed five people at an Orlando, Florida, business Monday morning before killing himself, Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said. Three men and a woman were found dead at the scene, Demings said. Another man died at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Seven people survived inside Fiamma Inc., which makes accessories for recreational vehicles, Demings said. The gunman, 45, was fired from Fiamma in April, Demings said. He had a minor police record and no association with any subversive or terrorist group, Demings said. Police had responded to a battery complaint against the gunman at Fiamma in 2014. The victim of that incident was not among the dead Monday, Demings said. He said there were seven survivors at the business. “It’s a sad day for us once again in Orange County,” Demings said during a news conference about 11 a.m. “Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims.”
