The 2016 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament involves 68 teams playing in asingle-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division I college basketball. The 78th edition of the tournament began on March 15, 2016, and will conclude with the championship game on April 4 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
Previously, the Round of 64 was known as theSecond Round since the 2011 edition, but it was reverted to the moniker First Round for this coming tournament. The First Four was previously named the First Round.
