In Catholic Europe, it has been celebrated on March 19 (St. Joseph's Day) since the Middle Ages. This celebration was brought by the Spanish and Portuguese to Latin America, where March 19 is often still used for it, though many countries in Europe and the Americas have adopted the U.S. date, which is the third Sunday of June. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March or May. It complements similar celebrations honoring family members, such as Mother's Day, Siblings Day and Grandparents Day.<br />
<br />
In addition to Father's Day, International Men's Day is celebrated in many countries on November 19 in honor of men and boys who are not fathers. The officially recognized date of Father's Day varies from country to country. This section lists some significant examples, in order of date of observance. In the United States, Dodd used the "Fathers' Day" spelling on her original petition for the holiday, but the spelling "Father's Day" was already used in 1913 when a bill was introduced to the U.S. Congress as the first attempt to establish the holiday, and it was still spelled the same way when its creator was commended in 2008 by the U.S. Congress.<br />
<br />
In the United States Father's Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. Typically, families gather to celebrate the father figures in their lives. In recent years, retailers have adapted to the holiday by promoting greeting cards and gifts such as electronics and tools. Schools (if in session) and other children's programs commonly have activities to make Father's Day gifts. The U.S. Open golf tournament is scheduled to finish on Father's Day, as was the 2016 NBA Finals. In the United Kingdom Father's Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. The day does not have a long tradition; The English Year (2006) states that it entered British popular culture "sometime after the Second World War, not without opposition".

Father's Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Many countries celebrate it on the third Sunday of June, though it is also celebrated widely on other days by many other countries. In Belgium, Father's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of June and it is not a public holiday. Father's Day was inaugurated in the early 20th century to complement Mother's Day in celebrating fathers and male parenting. In 1910, a Father's Day celebration was held in Spokane, Washington, at the YMCA by Sonora Smart Dodd, who was born in Arkansas. Its first celebration was in the Spokane YMCA on June 19, 1910. Her father, the civil war veteran William Jackson Smart, was a single parent who raised his six children there. After hearing a sermon about Jarvis' Mother's Day in 1909 at Central Methodist Episcopal Church, she told her pastor that fathers should have a similar holiday honoring them. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://trendnewsamerica.blogspot.com" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="Father's Day 2016 - Austria and Belgium" border="0" oncontextmenu="return false;" src="http://www.yonkerstribune.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Happy-Fathers-Day-mustache.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; float: left; height: 250px; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt;" /></a>Although she initially suggested June 5, her father's birthday, the pastors did not have enough time to prepare their sermons, and the celebration was deferred to the third Sunday of June. Several local clergymen accepted the idea, and on June 19, 1910, the first Father's Day, "sermons honoring fathers were presented throughout the city." However, in the 1920s, Dodd stopped promoting the celebration because she was studying in the Art Institute of Chicago, and it faded into relative obscurity, even in Spokane. In the 1930s, Dodd returned to Spokane and started promoting the celebration again, raising awareness at a national level. She had the help of those trade groups that would benefit most from the holiday, for example the manufacturers of ties, tobacco pipes, and any traditional present to fathers. By 1938 she had the help of the Father's Day Council, founded by the New York Associated Men's Wear Retailers to consolidate and systematize the commercial promotion. Americans resisted the holiday for its first few decades, viewing it as nothing more than an attempt by merchants to replicate the commercial success of Mother's Day, and newspapers frequently featured cynical and sarcastic attacks and jokes. <br />

By the mid-1980s, the Father's Council wrote that "(...) [Father's Day] has become a Second Christmas for all the men's gift-oriented industries." A bill to accord national recognition of the holiday was introduced in Congress in 1913. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson went to Spokane to speak in a Father's Day celebration and wanted to make it official, but Congress resisted, fearing that it would become commercialized. US President Calvin Coolidge recommended in 1924 that the day be observed by the nation, but stopped short of issuing a national proclamation. Two earlier attempts to formally recognize the holiday had been defeated by Congress. In 1957, Maine Senator Margaret Chase Smith wrote a proposal accusing Congress of ignoring fathers for 40 years while honoring mothers, thus "[singling] out just one of our two parents". In 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation honoring fathers, designating the third Sunday in June as Father's Day. Six years later, the day was made a permanent national holiday when President Richard Nixon signed it into law in 1972. In addition to Father's Day, International Men's Day is celebrated in many countries on November 19 for men and boys who are not fathers.<br />

Our fathers told us, for father's day, they all want a Flaminaire). In 1952, the holiday was officially decreed. A national father's day comity is setup to instate a prize for fathers that deserve it most (originally, candidates were nominated by the social services of the each town hall/mayor's office); This complements "la Fête des Mères" (Mother's day) which was made official in France in 1928 and added to the calendar in Vichy in 1941.

Father's Day in Argentina is celebrated on the third Sunday of June, but there have been several attempts to change the date to August 24, to commemorate the day on which the "Father of the Nation" José de San Martín became a father. In 1953, the proposal to celebrate Father's Day in all educational establishments on August 24, in honor of José de San Martín, was raised to the General Direction of Schools of Mendoza Province. The day was celebrated for the first time in 1958, on the third Sunday of June, but it was not included in the school calendars due to pressure from several groups. Schools in the Mendoza Province continued to celebrate Father's Day on August 24, and, in 1982, the provincial governor passed a law declaring Father's Day in the province to be celebrated on that day.

Hale is an alumnus of the small private Christian school, which teaches pre-K through 6th grade students. The school has about 200 students enrolled, according to data from its website. The private school focuses its curriculum on biblical theology. Students take classes about the Bible, along with standard education courses.

Audrey Hale is a former student of the school. He entered the school on Monday morning March 27 2023 and opened fire through the door on the side of the building. Once entering the school, Hale was indiscriminate with whom he targeted. He shoots through locked doors and targets random students in the school.

Hale killed Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, aged 9. Then guard Mike Hill, and substitute teacher Cynthia Peak, and principal Katherine Koonce. After the shooting, Hale was finally killed while confronting officers on the second floor. He died at 10:27 local time, fourteen minutes after the alarm was sounded.

Hale is equipped with at least 2 assault guns and a pistol. When police searched the family's Nashville home, officers found a detailed map and manifesto of the attack. The assailant had devised plans to attack other schools in the area, but retreated. Hale has no police record or mental health problems. Covenant School was founded in 2001 as a ministry of the Covenant Presbyterian Church. Hale is a student at the school. Annual fees range from 7 to 16 thousand dollars.

The school is located in the affluent Green Hills neighborhood, just south of the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. The cafe is a favorite haunt for musicians and songwriters. The police also contacted the suspect's father to find out more information. Police plan to release a video of the shooting in the coming days.Dewitahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15948434041706179905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2310255246586472235.post-17132091829821328262023-01-28T08:16:00.002+00:002023-01-28T08:16:35.836+00:00Billy Packer Biography Anthony William Packer<a href="http://trendnewsamerica.blogspot.com" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="Billy Packer Biography Anthony William Packer" border="0" oncontextmenu="return false;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQKWX4TGuI4yswVXmMxahyphenhyphenPbE-jRsdCdCBADAr3pxv3FdMn0aZ88qSZzrghvROhnuxGouVfi-qtbYxYJRGoJ0fDE44MpDogtd33DBQ1EcWxCpZWgnMtCQpZgX6dwEz1ciSNuViEzSozlmz/s320/Billy+Packer.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; width: 250px;" /></a>Anthony William Packer (born Anthony William Paczkowski; February 25, 1940 – January 26, 2023) was an American sportscaster and a published author. Packer spent more than three decades working as a color analyst for television coverage of college basketball.
<br/><br/>
Packer first worked at the network level with NBC (1974–1981) and then CBS (1981–2008). He covered every NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, including the Final Four from 1975 to 2008. For many years he also covered ACC games for Raycom Sports. In 1986 he helped create the computer game Hoops. He won a Sports Emmy Award in 1993.
<br/><br/>
In 2005, Packer received the Marvin Francis Award for "notable achievement and service in coverage of the ACC," as reported by The Washington Post. On July 15, 2008, CBS announced that Packer would be replaced by Clark Kellogg on the network's lead broadcast crew. This marked the end of 35 straight years of Packer covering the NCAA tournament as a TV analyst.
<br/><br/>
In March 2009, he returned to the studio with Bob Knight for Survive and Advance, an NCAA tournament preview show produced by Fox Sports Net. Packer also served as a color commentator for Putt-Putt Professional Putters Association television broadcasts. He called the historic 1982 PPA National Championship, which featured 4 future Hall of Fame players among the 8 contestants.
<br/><br/>
Packer was the author of Hoops, Why We Win, and a number of other basketball books. He was married to Barbara, and they had three children. Two of his children (Brandt and Mark) work in sports media, Brandt works as a producer for Golf Channel and Mark is a sports radio host based in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 1988, Billy Packer was inducted into the National Polish American Sports Hall of Fame. Packer died of kidney failure on January 26, 2023, at the age of 82.Dewitahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15948434041706179905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2310255246586472235.post-14579547510293765902022-10-24T00:55:00.002+01:002022-10-24T00:55:41.756+01:00Slim Dusty Biography David Gordon Kirkpatrick<a href="http://trendnewsamerica.blogspot.com" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="Slim Dusty Biography David Gordon Kirkpatrick" border="0" oncontextmenu="return false;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNOO1rL1XI_3B9IaeMQf3OXcGWAUqem5NOtgggo6HIw8aSbmgzsAs6hxDlreBywbN2p68yrCpuUYqOJY2VU1GMNpFV1xcu1M_4ijcLKdRSUiQ5hPcQecw-0C-Ncu3W3-j4yzkizD_w6Zg/s1600/Slim_Dusty_m668583.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; width: 250px;" /></a>Slim Dusty, AO MBE (born David Gordon Kirkpatrick; 13 June 1927 – 19 September 2003) was an Australian country music singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer. He was an Australian cultural icon and one of the country's most awarded stars, with a career spanning nearly seven decades and producing numerous recordings. He was known to record songs in the legacy of Australia, particularly of bush life and renowned Australian bush poets Henry Lawson and Banjo Paterson that represented the lifestyle. The music genre was coined the "bush ballad", a style first made popular by Buddy Williams, the first artist to perform the genre in Australia, and also for his many trucking songs.
<br/><br/>
Slim Dusty "released more than a hundred albums, selling more than seven million records and earning over 70 gold and platinum album certifications". He was the first Australian to have a No. 1 international hit song, with a version of Gordon Parsons' "A Pub with No Beer".[1] He received 38 Golden Guitar and an Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) award. He was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame and Australian Roll of Renown. At the time of his death, at the age of 76, Dusty had been working on his 106th album for EMI Records. In 2007, his domestic record sales in Australia surpassed seven million. During his lifetime, Dusty was considered an Australian National Treasure. He performed "Waltzing Matilda", a very famous song in Australia, at the closing ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Unlike Mother's Day and Father's Day, it is not federally recognized, though the Siblings Day Foundation is working to change this. Since 1998, the governors of 49 states have officially issued proclamations to recognize Siblings Day in their state. From its American beginnings the observation has become international, spreading as far as India and Australia.<br />
<br />
The holiday was originally conceived by Claudia Evart to honor the memory of her brother and sister, both of whom passed away at early ages. The organization was incorporated in 1997 and achieved non-profit status in 1999. Carolyn Maloney, then U.S. Representative for New York's 12th congressional district, officially saluted the holiday and introduced it into the official Congressional Record of the United States Congress on September 26, 2005. In the United States, 79% of all children have siblings. The holiday is intended to be a celebration of the relationship of brothers and sisters.<br />

Zadeh was best known for proposing fuzzy mathematics, consisting of these fuzzy-related concepts: fuzzy sets, fuzzy logic, fuzzy algorithms, fuzzy semantics, fuzzy languages, fuzzy control, fuzzy systems, fuzzy probabilities, fuzzy events, and fuzzy information. Zadeh was a founding member of the Eurasian Academy.<div><br /></div><div><div>According to Google Scholar, as of February 2021, Zadeh's work has been cited about 270,000 times in scholarly works, with the 1965 Fuzzy sets paper receiving more than 115,000 citations. Zadeh, in his theory of fuzzy sets, proposed using a membership function (with a range covering the interval [0,1]) operating on the domain of all possible values. He proposed new operations for the calculus of logic and showed that fuzzy logic was a generalisation of classical and Boolean logic. He also proposed fuzzy numbers as a special case of fuzzy sets, as well as the corresponding rules for consistent mathematical operations (fuzzy arithmetic).</div><div><br /></div><div>Zadeh was called "quick to shrug off nationalism, insisting there are much deeper issues in life", and was quoted as saying in an interview: "The question really isn't whether I'm American, Russian, Iranian, Azerbaijani, or anything else. I've been shaped by all these people and cultures and I feel quite comfortable among all of them."[29] He noted in the same interview: "Obstinacy and tenacity. Not being afraid to get embroiled in controversy. That's very much a Turkish tradition. That's part of my character, too. I can be very stubborn. That's probably been beneficial for the development of Fuzzy Logic." He described himself as "an American, mathematically oriented, electrical engineer of Iranian descent, born in Russia."</div><div><br /></div><div>Zadeh was married to Fay Zadeh and had two children, Stella Zadeh and Norman Zada. Zadeh's wife, Fay Zadeh, wrote about her travels and their experiences together in visiting "exotic places" and meeting interesting people around the world in her book -- My Life and Travels with the Father of Fuzzy Logic. Zadeh died in his home in Berkeley, California,[3] on September 6, 2017, at the age of 96. He is buried in the first Alley of Honor in Baku, Azerbaijan, the city in which he was born. His funeral was well attended by "highly respected people", including the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. A month previous to his death, the University of Tehran had released an erroneous report that Zadeh had died, but withdrew it several days later.</div></div>Dewitahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15948434041706179905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2310255246586472235.post-74459085633747205442021-11-30T05:58:00.003+00:002021-11-30T05:58:47.454+00:00Janaína Dutra Biografia Brazilian Social Activist<a href="http://trendnewsamerica.blogspot.com" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="Biography of Janaína Dutra Biografia" border="0" oncontextmenu="return false;" src="https://www.google.com/logos/doodles/2021/janaina-dutras-61st-birthday-6753651837109149.2-2x.png" style="cursor: pointer; float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; width: 250px;" /></a>Janaína Dutra (Canindé, 30 de novembro 1960 — Fortaleza, 8 de fevereiro de 2004), foi uma ativista social, líder travesti do movimento LGBT no Brasil e reconhecida como primeira travesti a portar uma carteira profissional da Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil. Known to always carry a copy of an anti-homophobia law passed by her hometown, Dutra spent a lifetime attending conferences, seminars, and round tables to advocate for equality. In 2011, the Janaína Dutra LGBT Reference Center was founded in Fortaleza, which carries on Dutra’s mission by protecting human rights for members of the LGBTQIA+ community to this day.</div>Dewitahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15948434041706179905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2310255246586472235.post-35038598481267369752021-11-30T05:38:00.001+00:002021-11-30T05:52:45.890+00:00St. Andrew's Day 2021 Celeberate Google Doodle<a href="http://tokohpenemu.blogspot.com/" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="St. Andrew's Day 2015" border="0" oncontextmenu="return false;" src="http://tarves.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/scotland-st-andrews-day.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; width: 250px;" /><img alt="St. Andrew's Day 2015" border="0" oncontextmenu="return false;" src="https://updatesfromthefield.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/standrewsday.gif" style="cursor: pointer; float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; width: 250px;" /></a>St. Andrew's Day is the feast day of Saint Andrew. It is celebrated on the 29th or 30th of November. Saint Andrew is the patron saint of Cyprus, Scotland, Greece, Romania, Russia, Poland, Ukraine,Bulgaria the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and Saint Andrew, Barbados. St. Andrew's Day (Scots: Saunt Andra's Day, Scottish Gaelic: Là Naomh Anndrais) is Scotland's official national day. In 2006, the Scottish Parliament designated St Andrew's Day as an un-official bank holiday. It is also a national holiday in Romania. In Germany, the feast day is celebrated as Andreasnacht ("(St.) Andrew's Night"), in Austria with the custom of Andreasgebet ("(St.) Andrew's Prayer"), and in Poland as Andrzejki ("Andrew's (festivities)"), in Russia as Андреева ночь ("Andrew's night").<br />

It was thought that ritual slaughter of animals associated with Samhain was moved to this date, so as to assure enough animals were kept alive for winter. But it is only in more recent times that the 30 November has been given national holiday status. In 2006, the Scottish Parliament passed the St. Andrew's Day Bank Holiday (Scotland) Act 2007, which designated the Day as an official bank holiday. If 30 November falls on a weekend, the next Monday is a bank holiday instead. Although it is a bank holiday, banks are not required to close and employers are not required to give their employees the day off as a holiday. The University of St Andrews traditionally gives the day for all the students as a free holiday, but this is not a binding rule.Dewitahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15948434041706179905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2310255246586472235.post-65186058530082130382021-11-11T05:01:00.000+00:002021-11-11T05:01:01.653+00:00Happy Veterans Day 2021 on Google Doodle<a href="http://trendnewsamerica.blogspot.com" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="Happy Veterans Day 2015 - Google Doodle" border="0" oncontextmenu="return false;" src="https://cdn4.dogonews.com/images/fec30948-adbb-4ba2-be22-13f629de5d1e/veterans-day-image.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; width: 250px;" /></a>Veterans Day is an official United States public holiday, observed annually on November 11, that honors military veterans, that is, persons who served in the United States Armed Forces. It coincides with other holidays, including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, celebrated in other countries that mark the anniversary of the end of World War I; major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect. The United States previously observed Armistice Day. The U.S. holiday was renamed Veterans Day in 1954. Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day; Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, while Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who gave their lives and those who perished while in service.<br />
<br />
U.S. President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed Armistice Day for November 11, 1919. In proclaiming the holiday, he said "To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country's service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations." The United States Congress passed a concurrent resolution on June 4, 1926, requesting that President Calvin Coolidge issue another proclamation to observe November 11 with appropriate ceremonies.[2] A Congressional Act (52 Stat. 351; 5 U.S. Code, Sec. 87a) approved May 13, 1938, made the 11th of November in each year a legal holiday: "a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as 'Armistice Day'."<br />

Weeks led a delegation to Gen. Dwight Eisenhower, who supported the idea of National Veterans Day. Weeks led the first national celebration in 1947 in Alabama and annually until his death in 1985. President Reagan honored Weeks at the White House with the Presidential Citizenship Medal in 1982 as the driving force for the national holiday. Elizabeth Dole, who prepared the briefing for President Reagan, determined Weeks as the "Father of Veterans Day." U.S. Representative Ed Rees from Emporia, Kansas, presented a bill establishing the holiday through Congress. President Dwight D. Eisenhower, also from Kansas, signed the bill into law on May 26, 1954. It had been eight and a half years since Weeks held his first Armistice Day celebration for all veterans. <br />
<br />
Congress amended the bill on June 1, 1954, replacing "Armistice" with "Veterans," and it has been known as Veterans Day since. The National Veterans Award was also created in 1954. Congressman Rees of Kansas received the first National Veterans Award in Birmingham, Alabama for his support offering legislation to make Veterans Day a federal holiday. Although originally scheduled for celebration on November 11 of every year, starting in 1971 in accordance with the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, Veterans Day was moved to the fourth Monday of October. In 1978, it was moved back to its original celebration on November 11. While the legal holiday remains on November 11, if that date happens to be on a Saturday or Sunday, then organizations that formally observe the holiday will normally be closed on the adjacent Friday or Monday, respectively.Dewitahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15948434041706179905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2310255246586472235.post-75458134870019834922021-11-02T04:52:00.001+00:002021-11-02T05:02:54.503+00:00Day of the Dead Dia dos Mortos Día de Muertos<a href="http://trendnewsamerica.blogspot.com" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="2 November - Happy Day of the Dead 2017 Dia dos Mortos Día de Muertos" border="0" oncontextmenu="return false;" src="https://cbsnews3.cbsistatic.com/hub/i/r/2016/10/30/8b94add3-3c23-492c-a268-bf28a97afd24/resize/620x465/4746902787f15f9c55457d51d0cd5e0d/day-of-the-dead-getty-618925032.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; width: 250px;" /></a>Day of the Dead (Spanish: Día de Muertos) is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, in particular the Central and South regions, and by people of Mexican ancestry living in other places, especially the United States. It is acknowledged internationally in many other cultures. <div><br /></div><div>The multi-day holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey. In 2008, the tradition was inscribed in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Dia dos Mortos Día de Muertos<br />
<br />The holiday is sometimes called Día de los Muertos in Anglophone countries, a back-translation of its original name, Día de Muertos. It is particularly celebrated in Mexico where the day is a public holiday. </div><br />

Gradually, it was associated with October 31, November 1 and November 2 to coincide with the Western Christianity triduum of Allhallowtide: All Saints' Eve, All Saints' Day, and All Souls' Day. <div><br /></div><div>Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars called ofrendas, honoring the deceased using calaveras, aztec marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and visiting graves with these as gifts. Visitors also leave possessions of the deceased at the graves. Dia dos Mortos Día de Muertos<br />
<br />Scholars trace the origins of the modern Mexican holiday to indigenous observances dating back hundreds of years and to an Aztec festival dedicated to the goddess Mictecacihuatl. The holiday has spread throughout the world, being absorbed into other deep traditions in honor of the dead.<br /><br />

Many families celebrate a traditional "All Saints' Day" associated with the Catholic Church. Dia dos Mortos Día de Muertos<br />
<br />
Originally, the Day of the Dead as such was not celebrated in northern Mexico, where it was unknown until the 20th century because its indigenous people had different traditions. The people and the church rejected it as a day related to syncretizing pagan elements with Catholic Christianity. They held the traditional 'All Saints' Day' in the same way as other Christians in the world. </div><div><br /></div><div>There was limited Mesoamerican influence in this region, and relatively few indigenous inhabitants from the regions of Southern Mexico, where the holiday was celebrated. In the early 21st century in northern Mexico, Día de Muertos is observed because the Mexican government made it a national holiday based on educational policies from the 1960s; it has introduced this holiday as a unifying national tradition based on indigenous traditions.

<br />

<br />

<br />

She was the first woman in Japan to receive a doctoral degree in agriculture. Tsujimura was born in 1888 in what is now Okegawa in Saitama Prefecture. She attended Tokyo Prefecture Women's Normal School, graduating in 1909, and the Division of Science at Tokyo Women's Higher Normal School. There, she was taught by the biologist Kono Yasui, who inspired in Tsujimura an interest in scientific research. She graduated in 1913 and became a teacher at Yokohama High School for Women in Kanagawa Prefecture. In 1917, she returned to Saitama Prefecture to teach at Saitama Women's Normal School.<div><br /></div><div>

At the time, the university did not accept female students, so Tsujimura worked in an unpaid position at the Food Nutritional Laboratory of the university's Agricultural Chemistry Department. There, she researched the nutrition of silkworms before transferring to the Medical Chemical Laboratory at the Medical College of Tokyo Imperial University in 1922. The laboratory was destroyed in the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake, so she transferred to RIKEN as a research student in October 1923. She worked in the laboratory of Umetaro Suzuki, a doctor of agriculture, and researched nutritional chemistry. Tsujimura and her colleague Seitaro Miura discovered vitamin C in green tea in 1924, and published an article titled "On Vitamin C in Green Tea" in the journal Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry. This finding contributed to an increase in green tea exports to North America.</div><div><br /></div><div>

She extracted tannin in crystal form from green tea in 1930. Her thesis on the constituents of green tea, titled "On the Chemical Components of Green Tea", earned her a doctorate in agriculture from Tokyo Imperial University in 1932, making her the first woman in Japan to receive such a degree. She went on to isolate gallocatechin from green tea in 1934 and registered a patent on her method of extracting vitamin C crystals from plants in 1935. She was promoted to the role of junior researcher at RIKEN in 1942 and then researcher in 1947 before becoming a professor at Ochanomizu University when it was established in 1949. She was a professor at Tokyo Women's Higher Normal School from 1950 and was the school's first dean of the Faculty of Home Economics.</div><div><br /></div><div>

She was a professor at Jissen Women's University in Tokyo from 1955 to 1963, when she became a professor emeritus. She was awarded the Japan Prize of Agricultural Science in 1956 for her research on green tea and was conferred the Order of the Precious Crown of the Fourth Class in 1968.

<br />
