Tama is a third year student at Fujou High and the previous student council president. Along with her childhood friends Azuma Matsubara and Shinsen, she was a member of the student council during her second year before passing her role to Chitose, whom she also knew as a child as well. Considered the strongest at Fujou High, Tama is also known as "The Legendary" at other schools. Using her notable twin-tail hairstyle to her advantage in combat, she is able to disorient her opponents while executing powerful sumo slaps to knock them down. Her hairstyle also prevents Roka Shibasaki from pouching her, making her one of the few characters to stop that attack completely. First introduced to the story after ambushing and kidnapping Kenji, she and the former student council challenges Chitoge and the Game Creation club (Temp) in an attempt to disband the club. However, upon losing a game battle to them, Tama gives up on dissolving the club and begins to interact more with them due to an interest in Kenji.
たま（1999年〈平成11年〉4月29日 - 2015年〈平成27年〉6月22日）は、和歌山県紀の川市の和歌山電鐵貴志川線貴志駅において駅長を務めた雌の三毛猫。同駅名誉永久駅長。 2007年1月5日に和歌山電鐵から正式に駅長に任命されたことで話題を呼んだ。その主な業務は「客招き」である。任期はなく終身雇用であり、報酬は年俸としてのキャットフード1年分であった。 乗客数の増加・観光へのアピールへの功績から、同社からは「スーパー駅長」（後に「ウルトラ駅長」に昇進）・「和歌山電鐵社長代理」の肩書きを、和歌山県からは「和歌山県勲功爵（わかやま で ナイト）」「和歌山県観光招き大明神」などの称号を与えられている。たまの登場が火付け役となり、空前の猫ブームが招来され、ネコ専門のSNSサイトが開設されたり[3]、2012年から2016年の4年間で飼い猫の頭数が30万匹増え987万匹となり、近いうちに飼い犬の頭数を抜くだろうと予測されるなど社会現象ともなり「ネコノミクス」なる新造語も生まれた[4]。 たまは同駅の売店である小山商店（こやましょうてん[5]）の飼い猫である。同居する雌猫のちび（2000年〈平成12年〉5月12日 - ）と、たまの母親であるミーコ（1998年〈平成10年〉10月3日 - 2009年〈平成21年〉7月20日）[注 1]も助役に就任した。このうちミーコは死んだ後の7月26日に「永久助役」とされた。
Today’s Doodle celebrates little Tama, the beloved stationmaster of Kishi Station in Kinokawa, Wakayama, Japan. For many years, the train station was lightly traveled, causing officials to close it in 2004. But in 2007, the railway appointed Tama the calico cat to be the stationmaster. The new local celebrity drew crowds of travelers to see her in her office, where she sometimes wore an official cat-sized cap. Not only did Tama draw tourists to her new cat-themed cafe and gift shop (even the station itself got a cat-themed makeover!), but her celebrity also kept the train service open for local residents. Though Tama passed away in 2015, a new kitty called Nitama (or “Tama the second”) keeps the trains running and poses for selfies with passengers.
