Victoria Taylor (born Victoria Taylor) is a former employee of reddit known for assisting the community moderators in hosting interviews with guests to the website. Taylor joined Reddit in June 2013. She facilitated interviews on reddit in various ways, including by sometimes typing out responses from interviewees as they spoke.Taylor was dismissed as an employee on Thursday 2 July 2015. In response to her dismissal, many of the volunteer moderators of reddit shut down access to many of the website's most popular forums and services in protest. There was speculation that she was dismissed as a consequence of a celebrity guest Jesse Jackson being provoked by community questions during an interview.

Condé Nast Publications acquired the site in October 2006. Reddit became a direct subsidiary of Condé Nast's parent company, Advance Publications, in September 2011. As of August 2012, Reddit operates as an independent entity, although Advance is still its largest shareholder. Reddit is based in San Francisco, California. In October 2014 reddit raised $50 million in a funding round led by Sam Altman and including investors Marc Andreessen, Peter Thiel, Ron Conway, Snoop Dogg and Jared Leto. Their investment valued the company at $500 million.
